T-TROLLEY

T-TROLLEY is a simple and versatile trolley for basic track geometry: gauge, cant, twist on an optional base, and distance. It is built for any track gauge from 600 to 1676 mm, and a multi-gauge version is possible for networks that run more than one gauge. Two add-ons extend it: rail profile scanners, and third rail measurement for metro networks.

The signals are processed in real time on a rugged Android device running KrabDroid 3.0: anti-aliasing, smoothing of the long-wave part of the signals, visual warning when a value exceeds a selectable limit, numerical display or graphs of the geometry data and recording every 0.25 m, together with the description of the measured section and any events entered on the way (mud spots, damaged sleepers and the like). The recorded file is evaluated in the office in KRAB 11.

Third rail measurement for metro

Metro networks powered by a third rail have to keep the conductor rail at its prescribed distance from the running rail and at its prescribed height, otherwise the collector shoes of the trains lose contact or strike it. The third rail add-on for T-TROLLEY measures both: an arm reaches over the running rail to the conductor rail, and its sensor head follows the rail as the trolley is pushed. KrabDroid 3.0 records the horizontal and the vertical position of the third rail together with gauge, cant, twist and distance, so one run of the trolley gives the geometry of the track and of its power rail, and KRAB 11 evaluates both in the office.

T-TROLLEY or T-METIX?

The two share the same frame, weight and battery. T-METIX adds a swiveling laser distance meter and the DistoDroid 3.0 application, so it also measures the position of the track and of objects around it (structure gauge, platform edges, catenary, distance between tracks) referenced from fixed points. The third rail add-on is a T-TROLLEY option. If you only need the geometry, T-TROLLEY is the cheaper choice.
