KZV's two Android measurement applications are now in their third generation. KrabDroid 3.0 serves the KRAB family of track geometry systems, and RC Droid 3.0 serves the GEKON and DOUBLE GEKON rail corrugation measuring systems. Both run on a standard smartphone or tablet and give operators results while they are still on the track.
KrabDroid 3.0
KrabDroid 3.0 provides live monitoring of track geometry and rail profile parameters on the Android device, with multiple screen layouts combining numerical values and dynamic graphs, full-screen and night mode, and adjustable limits and zoom.
Its inspection tools cover Automatic Switch Inspection (ASI), rail profile measurement and visualization, point and section events, photo documentation, kilometer corrections and custom events — so switch measurements, profile analysis and event records are all captured in the field.
RC Droid 3.0
RC Droid 3.0 supports both single and double measuring configurations, for one rail or for both at once, and handles calibration profiles, measurement direction, kilometrage referencing and project information automatically. Operators see current corrugation values, kilometrage, measuring speed, evaluation results, GPS information and graphical outputs as they measure, and can review sections, verify compliance with defined limits and insert point or section events with photographs.
Data is stored in KZV format for detailed evaluation in the office with Gekon 11.
